One weibo post reads,

The first related search term when searching BTS in Weibo on October 16 is, “I will withdrawal from BTS’ fandom”. When clicking on the hashtag, negative posts and cursing poured out toward BTS.

The reason Chinese netizens are angry is because of BTS’ statements while receiving the Van Fleet Award, which celebrates BTS for contributing to developing Korea and the US. BTS’ RM said “This year is the 70 the anniverseray of the Korean war, we must remember the history of hardship that the two countries suffered and the sacrifices of many men and women forever”.

Afterwards, Chinese netizens were angry and posted “boycott” and “I withdrawal from ARMY”. Other angry netizens burned goods and deleted videos.
